Renea Huinker retires after 36-year career with Bank Iowa

Bank Iowa today announced Brian Carolan has been promoted to regional president of the Lawler region of Bank Iowa. He succeeds Renea Huinker, who retired after a 36-year career with Bank Iowa.

"We thank Renea for her contributions to Bank Iowa over the years and wish her a long and happy retirement,” said Jim Plagge, CEO of Bank Iowa. “We are excited to welcome Brian into his new role, leading our teams in Lawler, New Hampton, Fredericksburg and Waucoma.”

A 2000 graduate of Turkey Valley High School, Carolan earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 and has worked in banking ever since. He moved back to his home area in 2013 to begin working with Bank Iowa.

Carolan has served the Bank Iowa region in a leadership role for the last seven years. As senior lender, he has led the recruitment and development of a talented lending team. Under his direction, the region is poised for strong loan growth in 2020 and beyond. Carolan will continue to carry the senior lender responsibilities with the assistance of the bank’s credit department.
